Gaius Pius Esuvius Tetricus I 271-274 After the assassination of Victorinus Victorinus mother Victoria or Victorina took the initiative by nominating Tetricus, a close relative. After the Tetrici were defeated by Aurelianus at Chalon-sur-Marne they lived the remainder of their days in Rome.
AVGG because Tetricus II (his son) was also elevated to the rank of Augustus, or it reflect the desire of the Gallic emperor to be co-emperor with Aurelianus in Rome.
The antoniniani were sometimes carelessly produced and were much imitated by irregular mints in Gaul and Britain.
Barbarous Radiate (see obv legend and the abstract quality like the Celtic coinage of an earlier age).
