Adranon

401 BC     Adranon founded by Dionysios of Syracuse near an ancient temple of the 
           (Sikel) god Adranon, perhaps with the help of the neighbouring Piakos.
343 BC     Adranon was the first city attacked by Timoleon after his landing on 
           Sicily.
           The armies of Hiketas were defeated.
           Adranon, Tyndaris and Katane allied with Timoleon. Marks the beginning of
           the Symmachy.
           Adranon obtains the right to mint coins (till the time of Agathocles).
263 BC     Adranon conquered by the Romans. City "stipendiaria", but not allowed to
           issue an autonomous coinage.
