Hyria, Uria, Orra (Oria) One of the principal Messapian towns. The Messapians were the most southerly Iapygians. According to the legend a Cretan foundation (Herodotus), which maybe inspired by the many Mycenaean finds in the neighbourhood. Between 217 and 84 BC it was coining its own money.
